Dokdo, the territory of Korea

This is the video that I created to promote this simple fact: "Dokdo is the sovereign territory of Korea." Although this video lasts only for a minute and a half, it includes all the information that you need to know about Dokdo! As the creator of this video, I bet you will clearly understand why Koreans love and seek to protect this small island after watching this short video.

Just a little more background of this issue, Dokdo has been the territory of countries in Korean Penninsula since AC 512. Since then Korean people lived, or at least went fishing, on this small island. Historically, in the 19th century, the Japanese government also recognized Dokdo as the territory of Korea. However, the Japanese government illegally conquered this island during WWII and the Japanese invasion of Korea - and this is the main argument the Japanese government makes. However, Japan returned Dokdo to the Korean government in 1945 through the San Fransisco Treaty (signed as WWII ends).

But, the Japanese government still claim they have sovereignty over Dokdo. As well, they are trying to make the island as the place of dispute. However, history and logic clearly indicate Dokdo is the territory of Korea and Koreans. We have placed significant effort into protecting this island for centuries.

If you would like to help the Korean government and Koreans to protect Dokdo from Japan, please sign for Change.org petition here:
