Pudong Press is one of the school newspapers in our school, Shanghai American School Pudong Campus. As part of the promotion for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games (as student ambassador), I decided to write an article about the Olympics. The article generally discusses the important points we have to remember about Pyeongchang Olympics - the mascots, South and North joint team and preparation for the Olympics. Promoting Korean Culture and K-Smile

Since I started my work as a Global Korean Cultural Tourism Student Ambassador, I approached many of my friends and people nearby me to introduce Korean culture, 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics and Student Ambassador Program itself. Whenever I received the question, I answered to them as much as I know. 

 

To promote the Pyeongchang Olympics and K-Smile Campaign, I placed the sticker of K-Smile Campaign logo, Soohorang (Mascot of Pyeongchang Olympics) and the logo of Pyeongchang Olympics on the cover of my laptop. Many of my friends in the school showed a very large interest in those stickers and asked me questions about them. Answering their questions, I explained to them about K-Smile Campaign, Pyeongchang Olympics and Student Ambassador Program.

Teaching English to Chinese Workers in the school, I specially chose Korea as one of our learning topics. The class learned some travel English and had a role play as if they are in Korea. Naturally, I was able to talk a lot about Korea and later introduce them about K-Smile Campaign and Pyeongchang Olympics. As well, they showed interest about my hometown Incheon and capital city Seoul, therefore, I explained more about those cities to them Also, to my Chinese Tutor, I explained to her about K-Smile Campaign and the host city of 2018 Olympics, Pyeongchang (what is famous, where does she have to go and vice versa)!

 

Using Lingoglobe, I met a new friend living in Canada. She asked me about one of the interesting part of Korean culture - Korean Age system. As a response to her question, I created the card news about Korean Age system so that I can explain to her easily (and then I also uploaded to this website so that she can view it easily) - also, in the message I sent to her, I provided some explanation about K-Smile Campaign.

To promote Korean cities, I made many Card News about several Korean cities that I recommend foreigners to visit. Successfully, I was able to get more than 50 visitors in a few weeks.
