K-Smile Campaign

Traveling a new place, it is often for everyone to ask questions to the other people - especially the locals. It is also not difficult to find ourselves in very awkward situations - people may ignore you, people may give you a blunt answer. When I was traveling, I also had to face a similar situation. While it is understandable that people may be scared of talking with foreigners due to language barriers, it is not the most pleasant experience that you want to have. When you travel to Korea, you may have the same concern; however, don't worry too much about it. To prevent this happens to you in Korea, Vist Korea Committee started a social campaign in Korea about "Being friendly to the foreign visitors" - K Smile Campaign

K-Smile Campaign is the campaign created Visit Korea Committee, aims to reaffirm that Koreans should be friendly and kind to all foreigners visiting Korea (as the host country of 2018 Winter Olympics). More than 40000 people participated in the campaign by signing the "Pledge of Kindness." This pledge encourages Korean citizens to promise "Welcoming visitors warmly" and "Being nice to every foreigner and bravely help the visitors from other culture."

As the Global Korean Cultural Tourism Student Ambassador, I also signed the "Pledge of Kindness." Although I am not staying in Korea at this moment, I will try my best to be helpful to everyone who plans to visit Korea. Through this blog and through the email, I will answer as many possible questions about Korea as I can. As well, I will still help my friends to plan their visits to Korea. (Of course, I will always be nice to everyone who is interested in Korea at first hand!)
