Busan

Busan is the second-largest cities in Korea. It has the largest port in Korea and thus it is well known for ocean-related activities. Especially, the beaches located in Busan are the top tiers in Korea. Strangely, compared to Seoul, many foreigners do not visit Busan or do not have much understanding of the place. 

It has served as the vacation spot for many Korean citizens - why not for the foreigners? Busan is a perfect place to spend your summer! It even has an international airport (Gimhae International Airport) which connects various cities around the world. For many of you, you may have no clue about where to visit in Busan. That's why I am here! These are the places/attractions that many Koreans recommended in Busan.

Taejongdae 태종대
Historically, Taejongdae is known as the resting place for King Muyeol of Sila. In the modern era, this place is famous for its beautiful landscape and sunset. (Many people also visit here for fishing!) If you are a traveler (without a car), it is recommended for you to take DANUBI O-Train to look around the area. 

Busan  Song-Do 부산 송도
In Song-do, you may either ride a cable car to take a look at the scenic ocean or play with your friends in Song-do beach! As well, don’t forget to spend some time on “Cloud Walk (구름산책로)” and feel the ocean!

Cheongsapo 청사포(스카이워크)
Cheongaspo is all about healing yourself. Skywalk in Cheongaspo will allow you to take a rest with ocean and an old railroad nearby the area will allow you to think about living slow. After your healing with nature, you can have a taste of roasted clam – there are many clam restaurant nearby.

Haeundae District 해운대
Haeundae is the most famous beach area in Busan and Korea. Every summer, it is packed with people! Many good restaurants and hotels are also located nearby! Want to learn how Koreans spend their summer? Visit Haeundae!

Gwangalli Beach 광안리해수욕장
Another famous beach in Busan. It is less packed with people COMPARED to Haeundae. Every April, they host Gwangalli Eobang Festival – there are many art exhibitions, parades, and programs that you can participate.

Korea National Maritime Museum 국립해양박물관
In hot summer, the National Maritime Museum is the best indoor sight to take a rest with your children. As well, it is a great place to experience and learn about how Koreans interacted with the ocean over time. 

Museum of Forced Mobilization under Japanese Occupation 일제강제동원역사관
This is the memorial hall for the forced mobilization under Japanese Occupation. Although this forced mobilization is the huge violation of human rights, this part of Korean history is not introduced to the international community well. Many people say we have to prepare for our future, but it is also vital to take some time to look back in our history!

Marine City 마린시티
City, city, city! If you enjoyed the ocean more than enough, it is time to visit building forest! Many shopping mall and restaurants are waiting for you in Marine City! 

Jagalchi Market 자갈치시장
Jagalchi Market is the traditional market for marine products. It is also a great place to have unique Busan style street food and traditional marine Korean food. (Prepare some KRW paper bills if you plan to visit here – merchants prefer paper bills)

Ganbiosan Bongsudae 간비오산 봉수대
A great (but hidden) place to see the night view of city Busan – of course, it is also a great place to take beautiful pictures of Busan!
